Home Decor Testimonial

We put a three room addition on our small 1929 Cape Cod house, as well as added walls and re-sheet rocked all existing walls throughout. At the time it was completed, we were too exhausted to paint. With three kids and a career to take care of, nine years flew by and we still didn’t get around to it. At wit’s end, we decided to hire a painting contractor and his four man crew to paint every room. In this economy, they were hungry for work and we were able to get a great price. 

Where to begin, color-wise? My eyes were so used to the blah look we had for so long, everything seemed overwhelming. Coupled with the fact that I’m a "moody artist" type, I was petrified of making color decisions—let alone knowing where to start with an entire house to color coordinate, which I knew should somehow blend from room to room. 

Ellyn Norwillo’s positive attitude, artistic color sense, and professional expertise transformed my looks-like-a-college-dorm house into the home it was meant to be. Obviously gifted in all areas of interior decorating, she also freely gave storage and design advice as she walked through the cluttered, small rooms. I sincerely appreciated her ideas and are now using many of them. 

I must also note that Ellyn always made me feel comfortable and that it was the exact right time for adding color. I had been afraid to let anyone help; I thought a decorator would belittle the way we lived. Ellyn, however, was always friendly and never condescending. This was very, very important to me. I highly recommend Ellyn Norwillo as an interior decorator and color consultant.
